Japanese business intends to expand its presence in Uzbekistan

On November 30 this year, as part of the stay of the Uzbek government delegation in Japan, a meeting was held with the President and CEO of Sojitz Corporation, Masayoshi Fujimoto.

During the negotiations, issues of the implementation of the project for the construction of a combined cycle power plant with a capacity of 1,600 MW in the Syrdarya region in a consortium with IDiF, Nebras and Kuden International were discussed.

The Japanese side also expressed interest in implementing new projects in Uzbekistan with direct investment on the principles of public-private partnership in the areas of renewable energy, healthcare, modernization and management of airports, construction and operation of roads, etc.
