Trade and investment potential of Uzbekistan presented to South Korea

Representatives of the Embassy of our country in South Korea took part in a business seminar organized for business circles in the city of Yongin.

In order to expand cooperation in trade and investment with the countries of the Northern Policy, including Uzbekistan, the Yongin Industry Promotion Agency and the Central Asian Research Center of the Hanguk University of Foreign Studies, a business seminar was organized with the participation of representatives of leading business circles of the city of Yongin.

The participants of the event were presented with a presentation on the trade and investment climate in Uzbekistan and favorable conditions created in the republic for foreign investors. Also, taking into account the high interest of the South Korean side in the products of domestic manufacturers, information was provided on the newly launched National e-commerce platform “TradeUZ.com”. It was noted that this electronic platform is the first in Central Asia, which will allow South Korean importers to easily find goods of interest to them and products of Uzbek production for their further delivery to the market of the Republic of Korea.

Representatives of the business circles of the city of Yongin highly appreciated the conditions created in Uzbekistan for business, in particular for foreign investors.

The presentation was followed by separate meetings with executives and representatives of South Korean companies. Promising areas for establishing and developing trade cooperation and implementing joint projects, in particular in the areas of energy, battery systems, digital content and others, were discussed.

An agreement was reached to continue interaction with the Uzbek side to further discuss specific measures to expand trade cooperation and implement joint projects in various fields.
