On 14 August, Deputy Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Ilzat Kasimov held a meeting with Roberto Gutierrez Manalo, Ambassador of the Republic of the Philippines to Uzbekistan, the press service of the MIIT reports.
The parties discussed prospects for expanding bilateral trade and economic cooperation. In the first half of 2026, bilateral trade reached USD 3.3 million, increasing by 135.6%.
Agriculture, mineral fertilizer supplies, ICT, electrical engineering, transport, geology and textiles were identified as priority areas for cooperation.
The parties also discussed establishing a Joint Economic Commission and holding a business forum in Manila, as well as developing air connectivity, professional training and cooperation in labor migration.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed to continue practical efforts to expand bilateral trade and advance joint projects.
