Deputy Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade held a meeting with Managing Director and Head of Debt Capital Markets at Oppenheimer & Co. Inc.

On 23 January, Akram Aliev, Deputy Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan, held a meeting with John Tonelli, Managing Director and Head of Debt Capital Markets at Oppenheimer & Co. Inc., the press service of the Ministry reports.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the development of Uzbekistan’s financial markets, financing of promising investment projects, and opportunities for Uzbek companies to access international capital markets, including IPO mechanisms and the issuance of debt instruments.

Particular attention was given to attracting financing for projects in infrastructure, industrial manufacturing, energy, and other priority sectors, including the issuance of sovereign and corporate bonds, as well as preparing private-sector companies to engage effectively with international investors.

Following the meeting, the parties reaffirmed their interest in maintaining an active dialogue, expanding practical cooperation, and jointly exploring promising areas for further collaboration.
