British investments will be used to finance infrastructure projects in Uzbekistan

The Ambassador of Uzbekistan Ravshan Usmanov met with the Deputy Chairman of the British Export Finance Agency (UK Export Finance-UKEF) Emma Thomson, the correspondent of ‘‘Dunyo’’ news agency reports.

The UK Export Finance Agency is a government agency. Its main mission is to support and stimulate the export of British goods and services by providing credit, guarantees, insurance, advisory support and other assistance.

At the meeting, the British side expressed interest in financing large-scale investment projects in Uzbekistan for the construction of roads and railways, solar and wind power plants, mining and processing of minerals.

At the meeting, ‘‘UKEF’’ Deputy Chairman Emma Thomson announced that planned investment for Uzbekistan had increased by 20% to $3.6 billion.
