On June 13 this year, the Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Laziz Kudratov held a meeting with the Chairman of the Board of China Energy Song Hailiang, during which the current state of the implementation of joint projects and prospects for further development of mutually beneficial cooperation were discussed. This was reported by the press service of the MIIT.
During the meeting, the progress of the implementation of projects for the construction of photovoltaic stations in the Kashkadarya and Bukhara regions with a total capacity of 1,000 MW and a cement plant in the Samarkand region with a capacity of 3 million tons was considered in detail.
Emphasizing the importance of putting these facilities into operation as soon as possible, the parties agreed to make every effort to ensure the commissioning of 400 MW of photovoltaic power plants and a cement plant this year, and the remaining 600 MW by the end of next year.
A constructive exchange of views took place on the prospects for the implementation of new projects in the field of renewable energy sources, as well as on the creation of new production facilities and an increase in the production of chemical products.
The Chinese side shared plans for further modernization of energy systems in the regions and training of specialists in the field of “green” energy production. The readiness to provide consulting and technical assistance in the framework of the application of innovative developments in the field of infrastructure development was emphasized.
Following the talks, the parties expressed mutual commitment to further strengthening mutually beneficial cooperation. The issue of creating a joint working group and developing a program for the implementation of joint projects, including specific mechanisms, executors and deadlines for the implementation of agreements, was agreed upon.
