A meeting was held at the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Madrid with the director of institutional relations of the Spanish company Almar Water Solutions, Luis Blanco, and the head of the marketing and business development department, Manuel Garcia Kalvol, the correspondent of “Dunyo” news agency reports.
At the meeting, issues of attracting foreign direct investment and advanced technologies to Uzbekistan, exchange of experience in the field of treatment facilities were discussed.
Representatives of Spain expressed great interest in participating with their technologies and investments in the construction and modernization of treatment facilities in Uzbekistan.
According to the Spanish side, representatives of Almar Water Solutions took part in a business forum organized as part of a meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission of Uzbekistan and Spain, held in Tashkent on March 1-2. The company signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with the government of the Samarkand region on the construction and operation of treatment facilities on the basis of a public-private partnership worth 100 million US dollars in the city of Kattakurgan.
As part of this project, the Spanish company initially wanted to start research and continue discussions with relevant organizations in Uzbekistan in order to develop the necessary documents.
Following the talks, the parties agreed to work out the issue of holding dialogues with representatives of responsible organizations from Uzbekistan in order to accelerate the planned implementation of projects.
