On 14 August, Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Laziz Kudratov held a meeting with Mohammad Ali Eskandari, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Uzbekistan, the press service of the Ministry reports.
The parties discussed prospects for further expanding trade, economic and investment cooperation. In January–June, bilateral trade increased by 37.5% to USD 305 million.
Particular attention was paid to advancing 29 joint projects, as well as to preparations for the 17th meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission and the Uzbekistan–Iran Business Forum, scheduled to be held in Tashkent on 26–27 November.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed to continue joint efforts to expand bilateral trade and implement new investment projects.
