Joint projects were discussed with representatives of the German development bank KfW

A meeting took place between First Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance Ilkhom Norkulov and Regional Director of the Department of Eastern Europe, Caucasus and Central Asia of KfW (Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau) Veronica Garcia Del Arco, the Information Service of the Ministry of Economy and Finance reports.

The meeting was also attended by Director of the KfW regional office in Central Asia Andreas Schneider, Deputy Director of the Department of Financial Support for Reforms in Agriculture Tulkin Mirzaev, Head of the Department for Attracting Public Debt Bekhruz Karimov, Head of the Department for Working with Budgetary Support Projects of the Department of Public Debt Marufjon Mirzamakhmudov.

For information: KfW is a German development bank through which the German federal government finances investments and related advisory services in developing countries and countries with economies in transition. The Bank strives to create and develop social and economic infrastructure in these countries, as well as to establish a stable and accessible financial system while ensuring a rational attitude towards resources and the environment.

The bank has been operating in Uzbekistan since 1993. The ongoing activities in Uzbekistan are concentrated in such areas as sustainable economic development and healthcare.

The purpose of the meeting was to discuss current and future projects, including the contribution of the German Government to the implementation of the “Policy for the Early Development of an Inclusive and Sustainable Market Economy” program.

During the meeting, the parties discussed not only current projects, but also issues of financing agricultural projects, energy transformation, and the introduction of information technologies in various industries. Special attention was paid to the issue of financing the project to support micro, small and medium-sized enterprises.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to continue joint cooperation in the above areas and expand the scope of mutually beneficial projects.
