A visit was organized for representatives of the diplomatic corps and international organizations to the city of Nukus to become familiar with reforms, investment projects, and the export and tourism potential of Karakalpakstan

On February 24, The Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade, together with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Karakalpakstan organized a visit to Nukus for representatives of the diplomatic corps and international organizations to familiarize them with the ongoing reforms, investment projects, as well as the export and tourism potential of Karakalpakstan. This was reported by the press service of the MIIT.

The delegation included 12 Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary (Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, the Republic of Korea, Mongolia, Palestine, Algeria, Romania, Türkiye, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, and the United Nations), 13 counselors of diplomatic missions (Azerbaijan, Malaysia, Iran, India, Pakistan, the United States, the United Kingdom, Hungary, Latvia, the European Union, Switzerland, and Ukraine), as well as senior representatives of the Russian Export Center JSC, the International Water Management Institute for Central Asia, and the Asian Development Bank’s Representative Office.

Particular interest was shown in the investment portfolio exceeding USD 8 billion, including 78 projects supported by feasibility studies with a total value of USD 1.8 billion.

The guests also visited a number of industrial enterprises, including “Nukus SSP Texnopark” (yarn production), “OSTEN TECHNOLOGIES” (radiators), and “KARAKALPAK BASALTWOOL” (thermal insulation materials), as well as key cultural heritage sites.
