Uzbek diplomats, led by Ambassador Botirjon Asadov, visited Russia’s Tula and Voronezh regions, where they held roundtables and meetings with the Russian business community, the correspondent of “Dunyo” news agency reports.
As part of the events held at the “My Business” platform of the Voronezh Region and the Tula Regional Government, roundtables were held with representatives of Russian businesses and officials from the regions.
During the events, Ambassador Botirjon Asadov emphasized that Uzbekistan has created favorable conditions for developing interregional cooperation. He noted that four free economic zones operate in the country, where Russian companies and investors are widely represented, opening up opportunities for new joint projects and expanding mutual trade.
The ambassador also noted that during his visit to the Tula and Voronezh regions, he had the opportunity to become familiar with the potential of these regions and concluded that the two sides have significant potential for expanding cooperation.
According to Tula regional authorities, Uzbekistan remains an increasingly attractive destination for regional businesses. The region exports food and raw materials, chemical products, mechanical engineering products, metals, and metal products. Overall trade turnover is also growing. By the end of 2025, it was expected to reach $41.2 million, an increase of 31.2%.
During the event in the Voronezh Region, it was repeatedly noted that interregional ties with Uzbekistan have been actively developing for many years: in 2025, trade turnover increased 1.8-fold. The region exports food, agricultural raw materials, mechanical engineering products, and chemical products.
During the events, presentations were given on Uzbekistan’s economic potential, and prospects for interregional trade and economic cooperation were discussed.
Foreign entrepreneurs were informed about the reforms being implemented in New Uzbekistan aimed at improving the business climate.
Overall, following the events, Russian business representatives expressed interest in expanding trade, economic, and investment opportunities for cooperation with the regions of Uzbekistan.
