The Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis met with the Ambassador of Pakistan to Uzbekistan

Tanzila Narbaeva, Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, met with Ahmad Farooq, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Pakistan to Uzbekistan, the press service of the Senate reports.

During the meeting, the Speaker of the Upper House of Parliament particularly noted Ahmad Farooq’s fruitful work over the past three years and his worthy contribution to strengthening the strategic partnership between the two countries.

During the conversation, it was noted that cooperation between Uzbekistan and Pakistan is steadily developing, and thanks to the political will of the heads of state, bilateral relations have reached a new level.

Particular attention was paid to ensuring the practical implementation of the agreements reached, further intensifying interparliamentary cooperation, enhancing the effectiveness of interparliamentary cooperation groups, and expanding interregional contacts.

The importance of intensifying interaction between the Imam Bukhari International Research Center and the Center for Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan with Pakistani academic institutions was emphasized.

Prospects for developing trade, economic, and investment cooperation, as well as cultural and humanitarian ties, were also discussed.

The Senate Speaker invited the Pakistani delegation to actively participate in the 12th Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians and the 3rd Global Forum on the Sustainable Development Goals, which are being organized in Samarkand jointly with the Inter-Parliamentary Union.
