Representatives of the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Frankfurt am Main participated in a scientific and practical conference organized in Switzerland, the correspondent of “Dunyo” news agency reports.
The “Rewiring the World” event, organized by the Swiss-Asian Chamber of Commerce (SwissCham Asia) in collaboration with the Davos-Klosters local government, the Zurich-based Singularity Academy, and the ASEAN Association, brought together representatives from political, scientific, economic, and business circles, as well as diplomatic corps from around the world.
The event took the form of a roundtable discussion, featuring open discussions of current global political events, their impact on state sovereignty and security, and the rapid development of technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), and their application in public administration.
At the conference, economic topics such as attracting foreign capital, gaining investor confidence, demography, and productivity were also discussed, with an exchange of views on achievements and measures taken in these areas in various countries.
Uzbek diplomats briefed participants on the reforms and achievements of the Uzbek economy in recent years. Participants were particularly interested in data on the rapid economic growth, GDP, which reached $145 billion last year, the volume of attracted investment, which amounted to $43.1 billion, and information on the activities of the 18,000 enterprises established in the country by foreign investors.
The diplomats also briefed the participants on the institutional framework for protecting the rights of foreign investors and developing investment cooperation. The country’s logistics capabilities and transit potential were particularly noted.
Following the event, an agreement was reached to collaborate with stakeholders on business development, investing in Uzbekistan, obtaining additional information, consultations, and finding partners.
