The Khokim of Tashkent approved a “road map” for a long-term program in the field of infrastructure, urban development, public transport and localization worth 1 billion euros. The document instructed to develop a feasibility study for the tram line and a program for the localization of components for tram cars.
The Khokim of Tashkent, Jahongir Artykhodjaev, by the decision of December 30, approved the “road map” of the practical action plan to accelerate the implementation of the agreements reached during the recent official visit of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to France. The document was adopted to fulfill the order of the Presidential Administration dated December 23.
The “Roadmap” includes a long-term program in the field of infrastructure, urban development and public transport, as well as the localization of production, worth 1 billion euros. The French engineering company Alstom is indicated as a foreign partner.
Until February, it was instructed to develop a feasibility study for the construction of a tram line in Tashkent, until April – to work out financing issues with the French side.
During 2023, it is planned to develop a program for the localization of components for tram cars.
