Tashkent region is developing investment and export cooperation with Italy

A delegation from the Tashkent region, led by Governor Zoir Mirzayev, visited Italy, the correspondent of “Dunyo” news agency reports.

As part of the visit, a meeting was held with the President of the Lazio Region, Francesco Rocca. During the talks, the parties discussed establishing practical cooperation between the Tashkent and Lazio regions. The Italian side expressed interest in developing cooperation with the Tashkent region in the areas of pharmaceuticals, agriculture, tourism, education, construction materials production, and organized labor migration for highly skilled specialists.

Meetings were also held with the heads of several international organizations, large companies, and business associations.

At the meeting with FAO leadership, the implementation of joint projects in agriculture and food security in the Tashkent region was discussed. In particular, agreements were reached on cooperation in developing irrigation systems, efficient pasture management, youth employment, and meat production, as well as on increasing FAO grants for the region and launching projects in greenhouse farming and cooperation.

During the visit, opportunities for cooperation with several leading Italian companies and associations were also discussed in areas such as basalt fiber production, hydroponics raw materials, livestock and feed development, localization of waste collection and storage components, agricultural machinery, textiles, greenhouse farming, logistics, and exports.

Following the talks, agreements were reached on the implementation of investment projects in the Tashkent region in these areas, as well as on expanding export cooperation.
