Uzbekistan engages Chinese businesses in regional investment projects at business forum in Beijing

A business forum dedicated to trade, economic, and investment cooperation with China was held at the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Beijing, the correspondent of Dunyo news agency reports.

The event was organized jointly with the China Overseas Development Association (CODA).

The forum brought together Chinese companies operating in the fields of the digital economy, light industry, pharmaceuticals, textiles, mining, energy, international trade, finance, environmental protection, and logistics.

Participants were provided with information on Uzbekistan’s socio-economic development, investment climate, conditions created for foreign investors, opportunities offered by free economic and industrial zones, as well as the country’s tourism potential.

Separate presentations focused on the investment opportunities of Khorezm and Syrdarya regions, promising projects, and conditions for foreign companies.

CODA Chairman He Zhenwei called on Chinese companies to make greater use of the opportunities created in Uzbekistan and implement projects that contribute to expanding cooperation between the two countries.

Following the forum, G2B and B2B meetings were held, and agreements on mutually beneficial cooperation were reached in a number of areas. The parties also agreed to implement investment projects and organize business missions for Chinese entrepreneurs to the regions of Uzbekistan.

Thanks to the presentations on Syrdarya and Khorezm regions, we learned about the opportunities offered by the free economic and industrial zones in these regions.”
