Issues of intensifying trade and economic ties between Uzbekistan and India were discussed in Delhi

The Ambassador of Uzbekistan Sardor Rustambaev held negotiations at the Ministry of Trade and Industry of India, the correspondent of ‘‘Dunyo’’ news agency reports.

During the event, information was presented on the results of large-scale reforms being implemented in Uzbekistan, consistent measures taken to enhance trade and economic cooperation with foreign countries, the favorable environment created for investment activities of representatives of foreign business circles, and the export potential of our country.

It was emphasized that Uzbek and Indian companies have attractive opportunities to further strengthen multifaceted interaction, attract advanced technologies and innovations, knowledge and skills in such areas as pharmaceuticals, textiles, leather industry, information technology, healthcare, education and others.

The parties, drawing attention to the many untapped opportunities for the dynamic development of trade and economic cooperation, noted the importance of easing customs duties, tariff and non-tariff requirements to enhance the mutual movement of goods.

The head of the department of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry of India, Satya Srinavas, emphasized that representatives of the business community of this country positively assess the wide opportunities for business activity created in Uzbekistan in recent years, which serve to raise bilateral trade and economic relations to a new level.

During the negotiations, an exchange of views took place on current issues of cooperation in banking, finance, transport, logistics and other areas. The organizational aspects of holding the next meeting of the Uzbek-Indian Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation this year in Tashkent were discussed.
