A summit on venture capital investments, Startup Summit, will be held in Tashkent

As part of ICTWeek Uzbekistan 2023, Startup Summit will be held in Tashkent. This was reported by Spot with reference to the press service of IT Park.

The event is held to familiarize guests of Uzbekistan with the local startup system, promising projects and innovative companies. A number of foreign experts are going to speak at it.

The Startup Base platform will be officially launched at the summit. It will be presented by the head of IT Park Uzbekistan’s department for the development of the startup ecosystem, Jakhongir Kagirov.

Another important point of the program will be a panel discussion on the topic “Opening the startup ecosystem of Uzbekistan: attracting venture capital and expanding global reach”. It will be attended by:

• George Held is the CEO of Veon AdTech.
• Felix Lammers is the CEO of Plug and Play Uzbekistan;
• Jahongir Radjabov – Deputy Head of IT Park for Innovation;
• Alexander Likhtman is the founder of ITCOMMS;
• Pedro Vieira – Partner at 500 Global;
• Asset Abdualiev is co-founder of Silk Road Innovation Hub (moderator).

Also during the event it is planned to present the Swift Launch programs from the venture fund Sturgeon Capital and EBRD Star Venture from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. The detailed program of the event is available at this link.

At the end of the session, F2F meetings will be held. Here, representatives of startups and international venture funds will be able to establish contacts for the future.

The summit will take place on October 24 – the first day of ICTWeek Uzbekistan 2023 – at the main office of Uzbektelecom. The event will start at 14:30.
